Reported on August 3, 2021, Thailand Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) has invited 9 Thai trade associations, including Thai Autoparts Manufacturers Association and Thai Subcontracting Promotion Association, to talks with Walmart on increasing sales channels for Thai goods in international online markets such as the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Argentina, with the aim of boosting Thailand’s exports.
The move comes after Walmart recognized Thai businesses’ strength in producing high-quality products with a variety of designs, said DITP, who added that Walmart wants a large number of Thai products, including furniture, automotive parts, electric appliances and air-conditioners, etc., to meet the U.S. market's demand during the pandemic crisis.
Walmart’s online platform has grown quickly to become the second-largest e-retail platform in the U.S. after Amazon. The platform is likely to gain a greater share in the U.S. market going forward. Products being focused on by Walmart Global Sourcing also include automotive parts (sun visors and seat covers).

Bosch announced that it ended its 2020 fiscal year with USD 12.3 billion (EUR 10.8 billion) in consolidated sales in North America, with the COVID-19 pandemic particularly impacting Q2 2020, resulting in annual sales being 15% below 2019. Despite the global economic challenges of 2020, Bosch continues to invest in North America across its portfolio as the company plans capital expenditure investments of approximately USD 360 million (EUR 315 million) in 2021. For its Mobility Solutions business sector, Bosch will invest more than USD 250 million (EUR 218 million) in North American capital expenditures for 2021. At its Charleston, South Carolina facility, where the company expects to invest USD 80 million (EUR 70 million) by 2023, Bosch is ramping up production to support powertrain electrification as part of the company’s investment and growth in the area of electromobility as it continues its on-going support of the internal combustion engine. Bosch in North America is extending the company’s global focus on AIoT, where artificial intelligence (AI) meets the internet of things (IoT), via AIoT solutions and projects originating in the region. In 2020, Bosch introduced the Virtual Visor, a transparent LCD and intuitive camera, which replaces the traditional vehicle sun visor completely. (From a press release on June 7, 2021)

Grupo Antolin announced that it has developed a retractable sun visor, that improves the performance and overall look of the current offer. It has been developed by a multidisciplinary team from different divisions as part of Grupo Antolin strategy towards “Smart Integration”. The retractable sun visors are hiding behind the headliner substrate until you need them You can deploy them or retract them either manually, with one hand, or automatically, with the touch of a switch. The solution is valid for both premium and low-end vehicles and can be used as a brand differentiation depending on the trim and finishes incorporated. The sun visor is a fully modular solution that can be mounted in the substrate and delivered as a modular headliner or can be supplied as a separated component. The end user will benefit from more ergonomic movements. The rest position in headliner disappears so the end user does not need to move the head to position the sun visor.
