On April 25, Renault Trucks informed that it is launching the new Master, featuring a more robust frontage with a bolder design, a new, completely revamped interior, featuring a redesigned dashboard and steering wheel, together with functional, ergonomic storage spaces. The new Renault Master also offers new driver-assistance systems, including active braking, side wind assist, permanent rear view, blind spot warning and front and rear parking assistance.
It features six new Euro 6d-temp and Euro VI diesel engines, from 130 hp to 180 hp/400 Nm, together with an electric 57kW engine. All diesel engines are fitted with Twin-Turbo technology, which combines low-end torque with high-power for optimal driving. Fuel consumption is therefore reduced up to 1L/100 km and CO2 emissions remain under control.
Renault Trucks has unveiled its exclusive launch edition, the Master Red EDITION. This super-equipped edition is available throughout the Master diesel and electric range.

On April 22, Tesla CEO Elon Musk told investors that the company will have fully self-driving Autopilot v3.0 hardware system ready by the end of 2019 and a robotaxi that can transport passengers without a driver behind the wheel ready for operation in 2020.
The new microchip for self-driving vehicles that will enable this vision is made by Samsung Electronics in Texas and is claimed to be seven times faster than Nvidia’s competing Xavier system because of being dedicated for autonomous driving
Musk laid out a scenario in which Tesla owners can use their cars for their everyday commutes and then profit from them by renting them to a robotaxi service for a few hours.
Tesla would use its own fleet of Model 3 cars coming off lease to supplement the service.
The planned ride-sharing fleet would eventually lead to a USD 25,000 Model 3 Taxi within two years that omits a steering wheel or other human controls.
The Model 3 supposedly has an intended life of 1 million miles, except for the battery pack that is expected to last 300,000 miles, though a revised battery pack in 2020 could last 500,000 miles.
Musk projected the cost of running an electric robotaxi to be USD 0.18 per mile, allowing the revenue potential of a single Model 3 to be around USD 200,000, generating USD 30,000 gross profit per year over an 11-year lifespan.
The network would work like an app store, with Tesla retaining 30% of the revenue.
