On October 14, Global NCAP announced that the Tata Punch has achieved a five-star rating for adult occupant protection and four stars for child occupant protection in its latest crash tests. The Tata Punch was tested in the most basic safety specification, fitted with two airbags, ABS brakes and ISOFIX anchorages. For adult occupant protection, the car passes the UN95 side impact test, it has front passengers SBR that pass the requirements and it offers standard ABS (4 channel). The bodyshell was rated as stable and it was capable of withstanding further loadings. The footwell area was rated as stable. The protection offered to the driver and passenger was good.
The child seat for the 3-year-old and 1.5-year-old was installed rearward facing with ISOFIX connectors and support leg. The CRS was able to prevent excessive forward movement during the impact and offered good protection to the head and chest of both dummies. The recommended CRS did not show incompatibility. The vehicle offers a lap belt in the rear centre position. The car has standard ISOFIX anchorages.
The Punch can be improved by equipping the model with standard Electronic Stability Control (ESC), side head impact protection systems as standard, and 3-point belts in all seating positions.

Hyundai Transys Inc. (Hyundai Transys) announced that it has signed a joint development agreement (JDA) with Brose Fahrzeugteile GmbH & Co. KG. (Brose) regarding the development of next-generation car seats. The JDA confirms their commitment for the co-development and summarizes the joint research tasks by specifying further details of the memorandum of agreement (MOU) signed in December 2019. Under the JDA, the two companies will co-develop mechanisms specialized for autonomous driving (for free rotation and movement according to various situations), more stable seat structure (with built-in seat belt), and ultra-slim and lightweight seats (by adopting new lightweight materials to improve fuel economy). Based on the agreement, they aim to launch the mass production of the seats with new technologies in 2025. (From a press release on October 13, 2021)

On September 28, 2021, Mercedes-Benz Philippines holds digital premiere of the new S-Class sedan. Initially, it will be made available in one variant: The S 500 AMG Line in long wheelbase, priced around PHP 17.89 million.
While the exterior decidedly sticks to classical proportions, it grows considerably in every dimension. Available in long wheelbase trim, it is 34 mm longer (5,289 mm), 50 mm wider (1,954 mm), and 12 mm taller (1,503 mm). Wheelbase has also been stretched by 51 mm (3,216 mm). Yet, thanks to extensive use of aluminum (over 50% of the body shell), it offers a higher level of crash safety at reduced weight. The S-Class debuts the world’s first rear front airbag. This reduces the loads acting on the heads and necks of seat belt wearing occupants on the outer rear seats.
the S-Class comes with a 3.0-liter inline-6 delivering 435 hp and 520 Nm of torque. This is supplemented by an integrated starter-generator (ISG) that boosts the output by a further 22 hp and 250 Nm of torque. Mated to a 9-speed automatic driving all 4 wheels, 0 to 100 km/h takes 4.9 seconds, while top speed is claimed at 250 km/h.
