On March 30, Nissan expanded the full-electric Ariya line-up with two new grade options: Engage 2WD and Evolve+ e-4ORCE. The new variants of Nissan Ariya will be open for orders in most European markets from April 3, 2023.
Ariya Engage 2WD will be available in both 63 kWh and 87 kWh battery sizes. Ariya Engage 2WD 63 kWh offers a range of up to 404 km (WLTP Combined cycle), while 87 kWh battery options offer a range of 536km. The Engage model also features Ariya's distinctive monolith display with dual 12-inch TFT screens, power one-touch windows, six-way manually adjustable front seats, and adjustable drive modes. Standard safety and driver-assist features include intelligent emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, along with intelligent cruise control.
Evolve+ is a new top-of-the-range AWD option. This model offers the highest power output of the Ariya line-up with 290 kW and faster acceleration that goes from 0 to 100 kph in 5.1 seconds, 0.6 seconds faster than the original iteration. It has features such as a panoramic retracting sunroof, intelligent rear-view mirror, head-up display, power-adjustable center console, etc.

Magna International announced it is planning a new plant in Auburn Hills that would supply seats for future General Motors electric vehicles. The nearly USD 100 million investment is expected to create 500 new jobs, according to spokeswoman Tracy Fuerst. Construction at the site at 1700 Brown Rd. is expected to begin in July and be completed in November 2024, with approval expected at an April 5 meeting with the Auburn Hills planning commission. "We are working with the city of Auburn Hills and the State of Michigan," Fuerst said, "on a potential new facility that would ultimately supply GM’s Lake Orion Assembly Plant and Factory Zero." GM is investing USD 4 billion in its Orion plant, where it builds the all-electric Chevrolet Bolts and will launch the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra EV pickups. GM previously invested more than USD 2.2 billion to transition its Factory Zero Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center to build the Hummer EV truck and will assemble the Silverado and Sierras EV as well as the Cruise Origin autonomous vehicle. On March 30, Cipia Vision Ltd. announced its latest design wins with a new tier 1 for carmaker Chery. The two new Chery models will include Cipia’s Driver Sense, driver monitoring system (DMS), which will be integrated into the vehicles’ “In-Vehicle Infotainment system” (IVI), and will run on a Qualcomm SOC. The models are expected to start production by the first part of 2024.
These new design wins bring Cipia to a total of 32 car models awarded, over 11 platforms serving 7 OEMs globally. Cipia’s Driver Sense software uses computer vision and AI to monitor the driver’s state in real time. The solution detects signs of drowsiness, distraction, phone use, seatbelt, and more, enabling lifesaving alerts to the driver.
