On November 26, Dacia in UK informed that the new generation Blue dCi 115 engine in 4x4 drivetrain on all-new Duster is now available to order, joining the Blue dCi 115 4x2.
In addition to the “selective catalytic reduction” system (SCR), the Blue dCi 115 engines operate with a new air-water exchanger, a higher injection pressure (2,000 bars) and new gearbox ratios.
The Blue dCi 115 4x4 engine has a CO2 output of 123 g/km and achieves 60.1 mpg (WLTP) with 260 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm.
The all-new Duster carries over the same off-roading credentials that helped make the previous model such a success with a high ground clearance of 210 mm, approach and departure angles of 30 and 33 degrees respectively as well as Hill Descent Control and Hill Start Assist.
Also as standard on 4x4 versions is a 4x4 monitor that incorporates a compass and notifies the driver of the vehicle’s angle in real time.

On October 24, Opel informed that with a new addition to the diesel range, Opel now offers the Crossland X for the first time with the strong power and torque of a turbocharged diesel engine combined with the high comfort of a smooth-shifting automatic transmission.
The stylish and functional sport utility vehicle (SUV) is thus available with an automatic gearbox on diesel as well as petrol engines.
Also making its premiere in the Crossland X is leather trim, which is available as a luxurious option on the Design Line, Innovation and Ultimate equipment versions.
The new 1.5-litre, four-cylinder diesel produces 88 kW/120 hp and maximum torque of 300 Nm at 1750 rpm. The engine meets the strict Euro 6d-TEMP emissions standard thanks to an innovative oxidation catalyst/NOx adsorber coupled with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR). Opel is bringing the new Crossland X 1.5 Diesel to the market with a six-speed automatic transmission and fuel-saving start/stop as standard.

On September 10, McLaren Applied Technologies announced a collaboration with Integral Powertrain and Hewland Engineering on a new innovative e-axle system engineered and designed to accelerate the automotive industry’s drive towards electrification.
The e-axle, named the Combined Traction Unit, or CTU-400 sits on a vehicle axle and provides all the propulsion power for the vehicle, taking energy from the hybrid or electric vehicle battery pack.
The CTU-400, is a 400kW e-axle that features integrated highly efficient inverter technology from McLaren Applied Technologies, two 200kW permanent magnet motors from Integral e-Drive and two reduction gear sets for torque vectoring from Hewland Engineering.
 the CTU-400 also provides an advantage in its simplicity to vehicle manufacturers by only needing a single high voltage DC connection from the battery and a single communication connection to the rest of the vehicle, providing an unparalleled overall power density of 4.4kW/kg.
