On October 15, Renault introduced new One pedal to Park, advanced park assist technology which is a shift from a button to pedal, keeping the driver engaged.
The pedal solution was developed in just two months. It is easier in action, it is safer and the system is more enriched.
The speed of the manoeuvre can now be controlled by the driver themselves. Previously, the speed was defined by the system, irrespective of how the driver pressed the button. With the Advanced Park Assist system combined with the One pedal to park solution, drivers can now control the speed of the manoeuvre up to 7 km/h. Furthermore, while before you had to wait until the vehicle had come to a complete standstill to start the manoeuvre after an interruption, it is now possible to resume ‘on the fly’.

On October 13, Ford South Africa announced that it has expanded the availability of its innovative FordPass Connect system, which is now fitted as standard equipment across the Ford Everest sport utility vehicle (SUV) range, as well as on Trend and Titanium derivatives of the EcoSport compact SUV.
FordPass Connect, which incorporates an embedded factory-fitted modem, customers can remotely start the vehicle or schedule a start, lock or unlock the doors, check fuel level and locate their car.
On all Ford models equipped with the SYNC infotainment system, the FordPass app provides useful vehicle information such as current odometer reading, fuel level and distance to empty, as well as the tyre pressures on vehicles fitted with the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System. The FordPass app allows to schedule vehicle services at preferred dealer, search for fuel stations and available parking. FordPass app enables direct access to Ford’s 24-hour Roadside Assistance service, which is included as standard on all new Ford models, for three years with no mileage limit. It also provides online access to the owner’s manual and tutorial videos on key features.

On October 12, Lucid Motors introduced DreamDrive, its ultra-intuitive advanced driver assistance system.
DreamDrive Pro, the most comprehensive version of DreamDrive, employs up to 32 on-board sensors, a sophisticated driver-monitoring system, and lightning-quick on-board ethernet networking, making it among the most advanced ADAS systems in existence.
The impressive 32-sensor suite feeding data to DreamDrive Pro is seamlessly integrated into the exterior design of Lucid Air.
It’s comprised of 14 visible-light cameras, five radar units, four surround view cameras, ultrasonic sensors, and the first automotive installation of LIDAR in North America.
DreamDrive Pro’s easy-to-use interface uses text, color, and Surreal Sound, Lucid’s fully immersive 21-speaker system, to deliver clear directional alerts, enhancing safety features like Front and Rear Cross Traffic Protection and Autonomous Emergency Braking.
The Highway Assist group of features blends adaptive cruise control and lane centering control.
Auto Park identifies parking spots and manages all vehicle controls as it selects gears, steers, drives forward, and reverses in concert.
