On March 21, Infineon Technologies AG (Infineon) and Delta Electronics, Inc., signed a Memorandum of Understanding that will deepen their joint innovation activities to provide more efficient and higher-density solutions for the fast-growing market of electric vehicles (EV).
The agreement covers a wide range of components such as high-voltage and low-voltage discrete modules as well as microcontrollers to be used in EV drivetrain applications such as traction inverters, DC-DC converters, and on-board chargers. Both parties also agreed to set up a joint innovation lab for automotive applications. The Delta-Infineon Automotive Innovation Center will be co-managed by both companies. It will be set up in Pingzhen, Taiwan in the second half of 2023.

STMicroelectronics N.V. (ST) announced the launch of its new TSU111H 5V automotive operational amplifier (op amp) that delivers a combination of micro-power current consumption and 150°C operating-temperature capability. Qualified to AEC-Q100 temperature Grade 0 (-40°C to 150°C), the new op amp withstands environments that experience extreme heat such as in braking systems, combustion-engine exhaust systems, and fuel-cell generators. It is capable of continuously operating at 65°C for over 25 years, thereby serving the entire vehicle lifetime. It is ideal for applications such as the battery-management system (BMS) of HEVs and BEVs. The typical supply current of 1.7µA ensures the TSU111H places a minimal load on the vehicle’s electrical supply. The output voltage is also exact to within 250µV at 25°C, and 600µV over the full temperature range, ensuring high-accuracy signal conditioning in all applications and operating conditions. A typical use is to enable precision measurements in the vehicle’s on-board charger (OBC). The TSU111H op amp, housed in a SOT23-5L package, is in production now. On March 2023, Bajaj Auto announced that the two-wheeler EV supply chain at Bajaj Auto has been restructured, and several development programs with key vendors have made significant progress. assuring the availability of over 10,000 units of Chetak per month and reducing the costs that will enable Chetak to be accessible to more customers. The company also introduced the Chetak Premium 2023 Edition at a price of INR 151,910.
The features of the Chetak Premium 2023 Edition include enhanced detailing, an all-color LCD console that displays vehicle information, a headlamp casing, a blinker, an onboard charger, etc. It will be available by end of March 2023.
