Hanon Systems Corporation announced that it'd completed the acquisition of Magna International’s Fluid Pressure and Controls Division. The acquisition cost was USD 1.2 billion. Magna International’s Fluid Pressure and Controls Division supplies core components for hybrid and electric vehicles such as electric cooling fans and electrically-controlled transmission oil pumps. The acquisition this time will allow Hanon Systems to acquire approximately 4,100 workers and nine production and engineering bases in Europe, North America, and Asia. In 2018, Hanon Systems and Magna’s Fluid Pressure and Controls Divisions presumably generated the sales of Korean won (KRW) 7.6 trillion or JPY 744.8 billion in total. On December 10, Omen USA, a manufacturer of aluminum parts for the automotive industry, announced plans to expand its manufacturing operations in Richmond, Indiana, in early 2019 to meet growing demand from OEMs in the U.S. and Germany for its aluminum drivelines, steering components and oil pumps.
Omen USA, a subsidiary of the Israel-based Omen Casting Group, will invest more than USD 15 million to increase its production in Richmond, expanding its 76,000-square-foot facility by an additional 21,000 square feet and adding new production lines.
Omen Casting Group, which is headquartered in Kibbutz Hatzor, Israel, was established in 1946 and now has operations in Israel, Portugal and Indiana.
The company produces aluminum parts primarily for the automotive industry, providing steering, engine and driveline needs to OEMs across the U.S., Mexico, South America, Europe and Asia.
Hiroshima Aluminum Industry (Nantong) Co., Ltd. is going to build a new automotive aluminum die-casting plant with an annual output of 2.9 million units, investing CNY 216 million. The new plant will be constructed in the Sutong Science and Technology Industrial Park, and the management committee of the industrial park released an environmental assessment report for the construction project on November 12, 2018. The plant will be build in the Hailun Road area in the industrial park, using an existing plant building. The land space is 72,801 square meters. Its primary products are oil pump covers and mold covers. Upon completion, the new facility can produce 290-ton products a year.
