On August 28, 2021, Renault Indonesia virtually launched the new Kiger compact SUV in 2 available variants with starting price of IDR 220 million.
Powering the Kiger is a 1.0-liter petrol engine. For the base variant, the engine is a naturally aspirated unit producing 72 PS and 96 Nm of torque and paired with an automated manual transmission, while the higher-spec RXZ variant gets a turbocharged unit producing 100 PS and 152 Nm of torque, paired to a continuously variable transmission. The higher-specification RXZ variant is priced at IDR 275.9 million.
In terms of its exterior, the Indonesian market Kiger appears identical to that of the version on sale in India, where the model made its debut in January, including the Pure Vision LED headlamps which reside below the daytime running lights above. As with its Nissan twin, the Magnite, the Renault Kiger sports rear air-conditioning vents for passengers in the second row. Further equipment for the Indonesian market Kiger includes interior ambient lighting as well as a smart access card for keyless entry.

Brose Fahrzeugteile SE & Co. KG announced that it is showing software “BRAIN - Brose Access and Interior Network” that links and controls all functions in the vehicle at the IAA Mobility in Munich. The modular software can be integrated into the electronic architectures of a wide variety of vehicles and manufacturers. Brose products as well as components from third-party suppliers, such as lighting or air conditioning, can be controlled via standardized interfaces. With a configuration tool, the user specifies how the comfort functions of the vehicle should behave in different situations. BRAIN then translates these requests into control signals and coordinates the movement of the components involved. Thanks to the connection to the cloud, individual settings can be automatically transferred to new vehicles, for example for car sharing. This also enables new business models in which the user has additional functions on a permanent basis (Add-on) or for a limited period (pay-per-use) - for example an invigorating back massage. The software is integrated in a central processing unit from JOYNEXT. BRAIN can be used in series production from 2025. (From a press release on August 24, 2021)
