On August 11, 2022, MG Extender has been showcased at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show 2022 (GIIAS2022) ahead of its official launch locally in the near future.
This sturdy pickup truck is packed with a diesel engine with a capacity of 2,000 cc, 16 Valve Turbo Intercooler, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission and four alloy wheels measuring 255/60 R18. Its powertrain is able to provide maximum power of 119 kW/161 PS.
MG Motor Indonesia said it is optimistic that its double-cab pickup truck will become a bone of contention for big car enthusiasts and entrepreneurs with commercial needs.
In addition to the Extender, the new MG ZS, MG ZS EV, MG HS, the MG 5 EV, as well as the 1948 MG TC classic car, were also presented at this year event.

On August 10, FAW Vehicle Manufacturers South Africa (Pty) Ltd (FAW SA) announced that it has recently launched JH6 33.420FT to local and export markets. The 11,040 cc Euro 2 specification six-cylinder inline engine is water-cooled, turbo-charged, and has an intercooler, producing 312 kW at 1,900 rpm and 1,900 Nm of torque at 1,200 rpm. The Bosch brand manual injection pump is made for African applications, while the gear shifting booster makes driving feel like a car.
The 12-speed manual synchromesh gearbox is matched to a set of ratios specifically designed to provide optimum performance and fuel efficiency. It has a high-roof forward tilt cab with seating for the driver and a passenger. It includes a double sleeper cab with air-conditioning, a radio with USB, and an air suspension seat for the driver with multi-dimensional adjustment ability. This completely new cab design has a wind resistance factor of 0.54.

The Miba Group announced that it is acquiring a majority stake in battery specialist Voltlabor. Voltlabor develops and produces battery systems for a wide range of end-use applications from e-cars and electric motorcycles to buses, boats, autonomous forklifts, electric snow groomers, and manned drones. It also incorporates the Miba FLEXcooler, an award-winning, and novel temperature management system, into its battery systems. Voltlabor is now rechristened as "Miba Battery Systems". Austria's technologically leading battery production plant, "VOLTfactory #1", is currently being built in Bad Leonfelden on 3,900 square meters of floor space. Due to the enormous market demand, worldwide expansion and the establishment of additional VOLTfactory sites are also planned.
