Grupo Antolin (Antolin) announced that it has developed a new headliner substrate for cars with polyurethane foam made from organic waste and recycled PET bottles. The development of its manufacturing process have been conducted in collaboration with Antolin’s key suppliers, utilizing the energy from 100% renewable sources. For the core PU foam, the company has developed a process by which the fossil-based raw materials have been replaced by renewable feedstock derived from organic waste or food industry residues at the very beginning of the value chain. The fabric laminated to the headliner substrate has been made by Borgstena entirely with polyester yarns from recycled PET bottles and using electricity from renewable sources in the manufacturing process.
