Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) is giving the Engelberg Tourer, the new-generation crossover SUV, its global premiere at the 89th Geneva International Motor Show.
It is a twin motor 4WD plug-in hybrid EV (PHEV) which offers high levels of running performance in any weather condition or on any road surface with confidence with the long cruising range.
Features adding to its qualities as an SUV for a more active type of lifestyle include fog lamps fitted to an auto-open/close roof box and under guards for front and rear bumpers.
The engine is a 2.4L gasoline unit designed for the PHEV system. The large capacity drive battery is fitted beneath the floor in the middle of the vehicle. It uses twin motor system that locates high output, high efficiency motors at front and rear, but provides a cavernous cabin space that allows 3-row seating.
It has an EV cruising range of over 70km (WLTP cycle), and with a fully charged battery and full fuel tank it has a total cruising range of over 700km (WLTP).
The connected car system uses weather, temperature, topography, traffic and surface condition information to select the optimum drive mode and to tailor torque split through drive battery energy management and the S-AWC system.
MMC also demonstrates the Dendo Drive House (DDH), a packaged system comprising the EV/PHEV, a bi-directional charger, solar panels and home battery and is designed for home use. The company plans to start offering this service in Japan and Europe from 2019.

On February 3, Varroc Lighting Systems informed that it has developed and manufactured head lamps, rear lamps, and front fog lamps for the Ford Focus. Varroc has produced lamps on all four generations of the Focus. 
The Varroc Lighting Systems facility in Nový Jičínmanufactured three levels of headlamps for the Focus, as well as three versions of the rear lamps, and the vehicle’s front fog lamps were manufactured at the company’s Rychvald plant
The headlamps supplied for the vehicle include a halogen reflector in the basic version, OPTI-LED technologies in the mid-level variant, and a mechanically-designed LED projector with Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB). The rear lamps are available in three versions, with the highest-level lamp offering a homogeneous design of LED contour functions.

Lumax Industries informed that during the quarter ended December 31, 2018 it has won business from Maruti Suzuki for tail lamp, rear combination lamp, rear panel garnish for Ertiga. Lumax will also supply head lamp for newly launched Wagon R. It will also supply rear fog lamp, map reading lamp and rear reflector for Mahindra Marazzo. (From a press release on February 4, 2019)
