On January 7, Mahindra Automotive North America (MANA) announced it will display the Roxor, which it assembles from imported CKD kits at its facility in Auburn Hills, Michigan.
While not street-legal and for off-road use only, the Roxor offers a Mahindra 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, 4WD, a boxed steel frame, and an automobile style 5-speed manual transmission.
Mahindra has been selling the Roxor since March 2018 through 330 dealers in the U.S. and Canada, and is believed to have sold approximately 3,000 units with prices start at USD 14,999.
The company is currently in a legal dispute with FCA, which contends that the vehicle uses identifiable styling features from its Jeep Wrangler.
At 148 inches long, the Roxor is 18.8 inches shorter than a two-door 2019 Jeep Wrangler, while its 96-inch wheelbase is only 0.8 inch shorter than the two-door Wrangler.
At NAIAS, Mahindra will also feature the new Marazzo minivan, which was developed in Auburn Hills and recently launched in India.
Mahindra will also be displaying its zero emission GenZe e-scooter and e-bike engineered and assembled in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
