On October 22, SAIC Volkswagen Automotive Co., Ltd. (SAIC VW) launched ID.3, its all-new electric compact hatchback. The vehicle is available in 3 versions and retails for between CNY 159,888 and CNY 173,888 after subsidy.
The vehicle is developed based on the “Modular Electric Drive Matrix” (MEB) platform. It is designed to have a long wheelbase and short front & rear overhangs. It is also equipped with IQ. Light smart matrix headlights and transverse light strip.
The vehicle measures 4,261mm long, 1,778mm wide and 1,568mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,765mm.
The vehicle is powered by a ternary lithium-ion battery which has a capacity of 57.3kWh. Under the NEDC cycle, it has a cruising range of 430km, consuming 13.9kWh of electric energy per 100km. The vehicle battery can be charged from 0 to 80% in 40 minutes under the fast charging mode. Its top speed reaches 160km/h.
All versions of the vehicle have standard features such as a 5.3-inch digital combination instrument panel, a 10-inch suspended console screen, and a smart connected system 4.0. Some versions of the vehicle have features such as Travel Assist, Side Assist, and Traffic Sign Recognition.
New vehicles are manufactured at SAIC Volkswagen’s NEV (New Energy Vehicle) Plant in Anting, a place dedicated to producing MEB-based models.

On October 20, Geely Auto Group (Geely) launched the all-new Lynk & Co 09 mid to large sized intelligent luxury flagship SUV. The vehicle is available in 6 versions which include MHEV versions and PHEV versions. It retails for between CNY 265,900 and CNY 370,900. The entry-level MHEV version has 7 seats, while the entry-level PHEV version has 6 seats. There are options of 6 seats and 7 seats for all the other versions.
The vehicle measures 5,042mm long, 1,977mm wide and 1,780mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,984mm.
The MHEV version of the vehicle is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged engine (maximum power output: 187kW, peak torque: 350Nm), paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission (8AT) and a 48V mild hybrid system. Under the WLTC cycle, this version consumes 9.0L of fuel per 100km. It adopts a mechanical full-time AWD (all-wheel drive) system. The PHEV version of the vehicle is powered by a 2.0L turbocharged engine (maximum power output: 187kW, peak torque: 350Nm), coupled with a combination of P1 + P4 dual-drive motors. This plug-in hybrid system delivers a maximum power of 317kW and a peak torque of 659Nm. This version is also equipped with an 8AT. Under the WLTC cycle, it consumes 2.8L of fuel per 100km, having a battery electric cruising range of 60km. It adopts an electric real-time AWD system.
All versions of the vehicle come standard with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 SoC (System on Chip), a 12.3-inch intelligent LCD instrument panel, a Lynk-Mate dual-screen (12 inch + 6 inch) console, and a Lynk Co-Pilot advanced driving assistance system (with different functions on different versions).

On October 18, Ford Motor Co. announced that the first Mustang Mach-E made in China for local consumers rolled off the assembly line at Changan Ford's plant in Chongqing and will be available for delivery to customers in China by the end of 2021.
The Mustang Mach-E manufactured in China has a body size measuring 4,730 mm long, 1,886 mm wide, and 1,621 (1,613) mm high, with a 2,984 mm wheelbase.
The Mustang Mach-E has six editions: the GT First Edition, the GT Edition, the Extended-range AWD (all-wheel-drive) Performance Edition, the Extended-range RWD Edition, the Extended-range RWD SE Edition and the Standard-range RWD Edition. The powertrain system of RWD models deliver 210 kW (Standard-range) / 224 kW (Extended-range) of output and 430 Nm / 430 Nm of torque. It supports CLTC cruising range of 513 km / 619 km. AWD models deliver 260 kW (Extended-range) / 359 kW (GT/GT First Edition) of output and 730 Nm / 860 Nm of torque, supporting CLTC cruising range of 554 km / 492 km. The battery can be charged from 30% to 80% in 27 minutes.
The Mustang Mach-E features a 10.2-inch instrument panel, a 15.5-inch center console panel, Co-Pilot 360 system and C-V2X system as standard.
Mustang Mach-E will be sold in China through Ford’s direct sales network of electric vehicle city stores. Ford is on track to open 25 stores in major metropolitan areas in China by the end of 2021.
Within five years, the network is slated to expand to more than 100 stores.
