On April 16, Genesis revealed the Mint Concept at Hudson Yards, ahead of the opening of the 2019 New York International Auto Show.
The two-passenger Mint Concept introduces the all-electric, luxury car for the city, a new vehicle typology, featuring organic design and an innovative interior user experience.
The Mint Concept is powered by a high density, battery-electric powertrain, which is capable of an estimated 200 miles per full charge and 350 kW fast recharging.
The lightweight runabout reimagines the shape of the city car, tailored to the needs of modern lifestyle.
Design of the Mint Concept was a studio collaboration of Genesis Global Advanced Design in Germany, Genesis Design Team in the U.S., and the Namyang Design Center in South Korea.
In lieu of a conventional trunk with a rear hatch, the Mint Concept’s rear compartment features a parcel shelf accessed by scissor-style side openings engineered with a low load-in point to allow for easy stowage and retrieval.
The center console, which houses a central control knob, can be folded, turning the floating front bench into a settee.
Ingress and egress are made easier due to the automatic swiveling capability of the instrument panel and the bench seat.

On April 15, Toyota Europe informed that the new Camry hybrid sedan expands Toyota’s European line-up of hybrid electric vehicles to eight models.
The current increasing interest and demand for hybrid vehicles paves the way for the re-introduction of the Camry in Western Europe after an absence of 15 years.
The new Camry Hybrid’s 2.5 litre Hybrid Dynamic Force powertrain combines fuel efficiency, low emissions and quiet operation with more power and greater responsiveness. Delivering160 kW/218 DIN hp, the Camry Hybrid generates CO2 emissions as low as 98 g/km and returns combined fuel consumption of only 4.3 l/100 km.
The new Toyota Hybrid System (THS II) includes new Sequential Shiftmatic technology that allows the driver to 'shift' with the console-mounted lever, mimicking a conventional six-speed automatic transmission for a more engaging driving experience.
The latest generation Camry is a product of the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) design and engineering philosophy.
Providing high power output with smooth and highly refined operation, the new 2,487 cc four-cylinder Dynamic Force Engine has a maximum power output of 131 kW and develops maximum torque of 221 Nm.

On April 3,  Borealis informed that it showed various first commercial interior applications, including lower dashboard, glove box and centre console mouldings used in the new Skoda Scala compact car as well as in the automaker’s new Kamiq urban sports utility vehicle at VDI Plastics in Automotive Engineering (PIAE) congress.
Borealis Daplen and Fibremod long glass fibre thermoplastic materials are also used in further Scala parts, from the interior door panels and dashboard carrier to the front-end module.
The lower dashboard, glove box and centre console of the new Skoda Scala are moulded in Daplen EE058AI, a low density 10 percent talcum filled and elastomer modified polypropylene compound from Borealis, enabling weight savings of 6.5 percent over the previous 20 percent talc solution.
