ElringKlinger announced that will be showcasing product highlights from the fields of battery and fuel cell technology at IAA 2021. But innovative solutions for the modern combustion engine will also be presented. Various products for zero-emission mobility will be installed in a demonstrator vehicle, showcasing the Group's first-class starting position offering solutions for current and future vehicle generations. Highlights at the booth include various fuel cell stack platforms from the EKPO Fuel Cell Technologies joint venture established with Plastic Omnium. ElringKlinger offers components, modules as well as complete battery storage systems and will also be showcasing these at the IAA Mobility. ElringKlinger will also be showcasing its expertise in electric drive units (EDU) in Munich. Two EDUs are installed in the demonstrator vehicle, one each on the front and rear axles. Lightweight products are used in vehicles regardless of the drive type. Among other things, the demonstrator vehicle features cockpit cross car beams and front-end beams, a hybrid sill and underbody shielding for battery systems. Product innovations from the classic product portfolio for the modern combustion engine - for example thermal and acoustic shielding systems as well as cylinder-head gaskets and dynamic precision parts – will also be presented. According to several Chinese media sources, Ningbo Joynext Technology Co., Ltd. (Joynext), a subsidiary of Ningbo Joyson Electronic Corporation, has concluded a cooperation agreement with Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (Huawei). Both companies will utilize their resources to conduct research and bring innovation in the area of smart cockpit, and focus on improving the interaction experience between users and the cockpit. The products developed by both companies will include Huawei’s smart cockpit module, HarmonyOS, HMS-A core platform, and Harmony application ecosystem. Based on Huawei's platform capability, the companies will provide complete hardware and software intelligent cockpit solutions from domain controller, operating system to application layer. The relevant products have been ordered by a leading domestic car manufacturer for a number of models. In the future, the both companies will continue to expand their cooperation and create intelligent cockpit solutions based on Huawei's solutions for automakers. On August 26, EDAG China, subsidiary of the EDAG Group announced a new test centre at its Shanghai site to expand its range of services for the Asian market.
In the 2.800 sq-m test area, it will carry out tests such as high voltage system performance, high voltage and low voltage function validation, as well as testing during charging, testing of ADAS functions and of digital cockpits. In addition, vehicle commissioning and assembly of prototypes can also be carried out on-site.
The new test centre is the ideal extension to the existing range of automotive engineering services, and will allow in the future the development and the validation of state-of-the-art electronic components and modules. In addition to the site in Shanghai, EDAG China has additional locations in Beijing and Guangzhou, and employs over 300 experienced and highly skilled engineering experts.
