Continental informed that at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2019, the company will present the latest generation of intelligent antenna modules. This features an ultra-flat design thanks to the new space-saving concept, with the antenna structure integrated in the module’s printed circuit board. Continental developed the in-vehicle server to act as the cornerstone of modern E/E architectures. This high-performance computer contains application software for a range of predefined functions and serves as a platform for third-party software and services.  The Continental subsidiary Elektrobit will present a cockpit software platform – a controller solution that combines useful driving information with infotainment applications. Continental end-to-end smart parking solution recognizes, calculates and allocates available parking spaces in real time and calculates the charges for parking at the side of the road, off the road and in unrestricted parking spaces. Visteon announced that it will show its smart, learning digital cockpit of the future at CES 2019, where it will demonstrate the integration of its SmartCore cockpit domain controller and scalable DriveCore autonomous driving controller that creates a seamless HMI between driver and vehicle. We are focused on delivering a comprehensive, flexible and scalable digital cockpit solution for Level 3 and higher applications” said Visteon President and CEO Sachin Lawande. The cockpit domain controller integrates the instrument cluster, infotainment and other cockpit functions into a single ECU with advanced graphics, over-the-air software updates, and state-of-the-art cybersecurity. The cockpit electronics architecture supports a machine learning-based voice recognition and text-to-speech system and in-cabin driver/occupant detection and identification technology. Visteon’s digital displays are based on LCD and OLED technologies, including some with curved and non-rectangular shapes. The company will also demonstrate its new VX display solution that offers integrated haptic feedback, proximity sensing and knob-on-glass features, and the industry’s first V2X module that works with either Dedicated Short-Range Communications (DSRC) or cellular networks. On December 21, SAIC Group and Huawei signed a strategic cooperation agreement to deepen their strategic cooperation. The partners announced last year that they would enhance the development of 5G car connection.
The companies will develop a smart mobility system. They will focus on a vehicle information transmission network to enhance the research and application of smart driving technologies (the network uses CAN/Controller Area Network and Ethernet as its main interactions):
Enhance services and application of smart mobility and next-generation car connectivity, and collaborate in R&D of new technologies such as systems and intelligent algorithm of V2X (vehicle to everything);
Conduct technical tests and application verification of C-V2X (cellular-V2X) technologies, enhance the application of communication terminals/modules and develop related service platforms, and explore service solutions for smart mobility;
Explore cooperation/business modes for the software/hardware platforms of intelligent cockpits.
The companies will also collaborate in smart electrification/manufacturing, informatization, and network safety:
Develop industrial IoT (Internet of Things) platforms/products for the automotive industry, and explore cooperation possibilities in IoT car equipment as well as IoT cloud interaction;
Accelerate formation of an information and network safety system as well as an emergency response and daily operation mechanism, which can support software platforms and information and network security hardware.
