On May 12, Subaru debuted its 2023 Legacy sedan with revised front fascia that incorporates a more prominent grille and redesigned LED headlights, along with new safety and in-vehicle technologies.
For the 2023 model year, the Legacy will be available in Base, Premium, Sport, Limited, and Touring XT trim in the U.S. (Touring, Limited and GT trim levels in Canada) when it arrives at dealerships in the fall.
The Legacy is built at Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) in Lafayette on the Subaru Global Platform.
Its naturally aspired 2.5-liter BOXER engine produces 182 hp and 176 lb-ft of torque, mated to Subaru's Lineartronic CVT transmission that features an 8-speed manual mode function with steering wheel paddle shifters.
The Sport and Touring XT (U.S.) and GT (Canada) trim levels comes with a more powerful 260 hp 2.4-liter turbo BOXER engine.
The Legacy comes standard with the latest generation of EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, which operates more smoothly and under a greater range of conditions due to a wider field of view, updated control software, and the addition of an electric brake booster.
EyeSight now includes Automatic Emergency Steering that works in conjunction with the Pre-Collision Braking System.
The top-level Touring XT and GT trims add a Wide-Angle Mono Camera that works with the dual-camera EyeSight system.
