On January 6, Mercedes-Benz India launched the Mercedes-AMG E 53 4MATIC+ Cabriolet. It features a 3.0-liter, six-cylinder, in-line 2999 cc engine with an exhaust gas turbocharger and electric auxiliary compressor churning out a total of 320 kW at 6100 rpm and a peak torque of 520 Nm at 1800-5800 rpm. The car can sprint 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and can reach a top speed of 250 km/h.
The car features an EQ Boost starter-alternator which combines a starter motor and alternator in a powerful electric motor and can perform hybrid functions. These include the boost process with 16 kW of output and 250 Nm of torque, recuperation, gliding mode, and the virtually imperceptible restarting of the engine with the start/stop function. The car also features a Track pace feature which transforms the AMG vehicle into a virtual race engineer
