In an investor conference call, Uno Minda Group informed that its JV Roki Minda has successfully qualified in the QAV 1 and 2 audit.
QAV 1 and 2 audit conducted for the development of BS-VI model air cleaner assembly for HMSI, which broadly means that its filters are now BS-VI compliant.
ROKI Minda Co. Private Limited is a Joint Venture between UNO MINDA and Roki Co. Limited of Japan.
A state-of-the-art modern manufacturing plant is set up in Bawal, Bangalore and Gujarat for manufacturing Air Intake Systems.

On December 27, the government of Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province released an action plan to develop and promote new energy operations. Starting July 1, 2019, the city will implement the State VI emission standards to promote cleaner gas vehicles.
The government aims to achieve the following goals:
•    Promote NEV and clean energy vehicle applications in public transport, sanitation, postal, rental, commute, and light logistics, with 80% NEV and clean energy vehicle coverage in urban areas;
•    Enhance NEV and clean energy vehicle promotion in ports, airports, and railway freight yards;
•    Achieve 100% NEV and clean energy vehicle coverage through NEV buses in its six urban districts, and 85% coverage for the rest districts/counties/cities;
•    Replace all buses in Hangzhou’s urban areas by NEVs by 2020;
•    Increase the percentage of large NEV and clean energy passenger vehicles excluding buses by 12% over 2017 figures by 2020;
•    Strive to replace all taxis and ride-hailing vehicles with NEV and clean energy vehicles by the end of 2021.
The local government will proceed with the elimination or upgrading of diesel trucks that meet the older State III emission standards. It will also accelerate the elimination of older gas vehicles that adapt lean combustion and “fuel-to-gas”, which uses natural gas, technologies.

Scania Siam Co., Ltd. revealed that the company is driving the shift towards a sustainable transport system which is energy efficient, smart, safe and running on alternative fuels or electricity.
The company said that the coming 5-10 years are critical to really start shifting from the use of traditional diesel engines to a new solution that is low carbon or even fossil free.
To generate sustainable transport, the company build and deliver heavy trucks, buses and vehicles to be energy efficient. Those vehicles can run on biofuels or electricity which help reducing pollution and increasing profitability for customers. For the responsible business, Scania ensures to use resources efficiently and create a positive effect on people and society.
Scania will be opening its assembly plant in Thailand’s Samut Prakan province in the first quarter of 2019, mentioning that the company’s next step is to bring more gas vehicles to Thailand that can run both on natural gas and biogas and the Euro 6 engines, which means cleaner air for Thai people.
