Argentina car sales, production, exports increase in August

On September 5, Argentina’s Association of Automobile Manufacturers (ADEFA) announced that wholesale sales of 76,700 units in August was 5.5% more than in July, and 19.9% higher than in August 2016.
Between January and August, wholesale sales accounted for 564,256 units, an increase of 21.9% compared with the same period in 2016.
Argentina’s production of 45,262 vehicles in August was 18.6% more than in July and 3.9% more than August 2016.
Between January and August, the country produced a total of 302,835 units, 0.8% less than the 305,296 units produced in the first eight months of 2016.
In August, 17,583 vehicles were exported, an increase of 21.1% compared to July and 6.7% more than in August 2016.
A total of 130,526 vehicles were exported in the first eight months of 2017, 10.6% more than during the same period in 2016.
