 The 2015 TU-Automotive Detroit exhibition was held from June 3 through June 4, 2015, in Novi, Michigan, U.S. Over 3,000 people attended the two-day exhibition, which featured three main focus areas in its exhibition area and discussion sessions: telematics, mobility, and autonomous vehicles. Improvements in technology have provided customers with access to more capable infotainment systems. As such, interactions with these systems were a topic of discussion in multiple sessions.


 This report focuses on considerations in improving user experience in relation to infotainment systems. Issues that are discussed include the industry's tendency to over-complicate systems, the characteristics that embody a good interface, and underlying concepts to improve services.


 This report is the third of three reports which focuses on the discussion sessions presented at TU-Automotive Detroit. The first report provided an overview of ideas and concepts that were presented at TU-Automotive Detroit as they related to autonomous vehicles. The second report presented beneficial possibilities that telematics services could provide for businesses, individuals, and society.
