Concerning models, production of which began in China in 2006, Nissan exhibited Livina Geniss and Sylphy, both of which it announced at the 2006 Guangzhou Motor Show and started producing/selling in November 2006. In addition, Honda exhibited Civic 3box/City 3box and Mazda showed Mazda 3 (production is currently being suspended)/Mazda 6 Wagon/Mazda 6 sports while Mitsubishi exhibited Lancer 1.6L 3box/New Space Wagon 2006/Galant and Suzuki showed Liana 2box/SX4 sedan.
■Nissan exhibited a total of 10 models including Geniss/Sylphy, production of which has begun in China, and new Paladin Including eight models that it demonstrated at the 2006 Guangzhou Motor Show (China), Nissan exhibited a total of 10 models including Pivo concept and Zhengzhou Nissan Automobile's new Paladin 2007 model. ■PIVO concept: Reference exhibit. Debut in China. The model is a compact EV concept car powered by lithium-battery. It uses Drive-by-wire system. (Photo)
In addition, Nissan exhibited its import models - 350Z/Fuga/Quest - that use VQ35DE engine and 6-speed MT. ■Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle exhibited Livina Geniss, which it manufactured in China before anywhere in the world, releasing in November 2006 ■Livina Geniss: The model is a new model of Nissan's global compact MPV that debuted at 2006 Guangzhou Motor Show (China) in the world. It was manufactured at Nissan's Guangzhou plant before anywhere in the world and was released in November 2006. The standard selling price is 138,800-162,300 RMB. Livina Geniss uses new 1.8L MR18DE engine and MT/AT. 4,420mm long x 1,690 mm wide x 1,590 mm high. (Note) The standard selling price corresponds to the suggested list price in Japan.
■Sylphy 2.0L: The model is new Bluebird, production of which began at the Guangzhou plant of Nissan (Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle) in July 2006. It was released in August 2006. The standard selling price is 167,800-214,800 RMB. The model uses 2.0L MR20DE engine and the 3rd-generation Xtronic-CVT. It meets Euro IV emission standards. (Photo) In addition, Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle exhibited 3.5L Teana 2006 model (standard selling price is 361,800 RMB), which is produced at the Xiangfan joint plant, and Tiida 3box/Tiida 2box (standard selling price of each model ranges from 119,800 to 169,800 RMB.), which is manufactured at the Guangzhou joint plant. ■Zhengzhou Nissan Automobile exhibited Paladin 2007 model ■Paladin 2007: 2007 model of Paladin (4WD), which meets Euro III emission standards. Production/sale began in 2006. Though improvement was made on 20 items including switch of front grill and adoption of fog light/rear-view mirror with new design, the standard selling price remains the same as that of the former spec at 164,800 RMB. In addition, Nissan exhibited Livina Geniss Cut Model. Moreover, the auto manufacturer set up a technology section for its powertrain technology (Photo), showing three types of its engines - HR16DE (Photo)/MR20DE (Photo)/VQ35DE (Photo) - and Xtronic CVT simulator (Photo).
■Honda exhibited 12 models including Acura (OuGe) RL/TL Honda exhibited nine models including reference exhibit at its joint booth with Guangzhou Honda Automobile and Dongfeng Honda Automobile. Honda exhibited three Acura brand models at its independent area. In September 2006, Honda opened the first exclusive dealer for Acura (Chinese name: OuGe) brand vehicles in Shenzhen City, starting import/sale of RL and TL in China. The number of dealers will be increased to 10 at an early date. The first-year sales target is 3,000 vehicles. ■Sport 4 concept: Reference exhibit. The model is Honda's new-generation 4-door sports concept car announced at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show. It uses SH-AWD (Super Handling All-Wheel-Drive). (Photo)
■Guangzhou Honda Automobile exhibited Odyssey 2007 model and 2006 models of its other products ■Odyssey 2007: Odyssey 2007 model that was introduced for the first time. The model uses 2.4L i-VTEC engine. It adopts a low-floor platform. Odyssey 2007 is equipped with front i-SRS airbag and side airbag. The back design was also improved. Cotton flannel spec was also added to the seat, to which only leather spec was originally set. The standard selling price has yet to be announced (standard selling price for the 2006 model announced in January 2006 is 238,800-274,800 RMB). (Photo)
In addition, Guangzhou Honda Automobile exhibited 2006 models of Accord 2.0 i-VTEC comfort version and Fit 2box 1.5L/1.3L (all model were released in January 2006), which it also showed at the 2006 Guangzhou Motor Show (China), and City 3box 1.5L, production of which started in March 2006 (released in April 2006). ■Dongfeng Honda Automobile exhibited 8th-generation Civic sedan, which it started producing in April 2006 ■Civic 3box: 8th-generation Civic sedan, production of which began in April 2006. The model uses 1.8L i-VTEC engine that meets Euro IV emission standards. The auto manufacturer exhibited Civic 3box VTi spec with AT and Civic 3box EXi spec with MT (Photo). In addition, it showed CR-V, which it started producing in April 2004. ■Concerning Acura (OuGe) brand vehicles, the auto manufacturer exhibited RL/TL, which was released in 2006, and MDX, which is scheduled to be released in 2007 ■Acura RL: Import/sale in China began in September 2006. The standard selling price is 680,000 RMB. The model uses 3.5L VTEC V6 SOHC engine with a maximum output of 217kW, SH-AWD system, and Sequential sportshift 5-speed AT with manual model. The model meets Euro IV emission standards. It is equipped with six airbags - front/front side/curtain.
■Acura TL: Import/sale in China began in September 2006. The standard selling price is 430,000 RMB. The model uses 3.2L VTEC V6 SOHC engine with a maximum output of 199kW and Sequential sportshift 5-speed AT with manual mode. Acura TL meets Euro IV emission standards. The model is equipped with six airbags - front/front side/curtain. (Photo) ■Acura MDX 2007 model: Acura brand SUV (3-row, 7-seat, 5-door), import/sale is planned to begin in China in 2007. The model uses 3.7L VTEC V6 engine with a maximum output of 300 horsepower, SH-AWD, and Sequential sportshift 5-speed AT with manual mode. The model meets Euro IV emission standards. (Photo) Honda also displayed a miniature model of the standard exclusive dealer for Acura brand vehicles (Acura Dealer Standard) and SH-AWD (Super Handling All-wheel-drive) system (Photo). ■Honda exhibited its fuel-cell vehicle/powertrain technology/safety technology ■FCX concept: Reference exhibit. The model is a base model (concept car) of a new fuel-cell vehicle that Honda will launch in 2009. 4,760mm long x 1,865mm wide x 1,445mm high.
In addition, Honda displayed i-VTEC + IMA hybrid engine (Photo) and its IPU unit (Photo)/motor unit (Photo). In addition, the auto manufacturer exhibited i-CTDi diesel-powered engine (Photo), Home Energy Stationb (Photo), which is jointly developed by Honda R&D Americas and Plug Power Inc., Tong Ji Econo Power Racer (Photo) developed by Tong Ji University in China, which participated in Honda Econo Power Race in Shanghai (held overseas for the first time) in November 2006. In addition, Honda displayed powertrain systems - K24A4 engine system (Photo)/L15A engine system (Photo), which it manufactures at Dongfeng Honda Automobile, and 1.8 i-VTEC engine (Photo) at its section for environmental protection/energy savings. Honda also set up a section for its safety technology to show Accord Cut Model, 2nd-generation pedestrian dummy Polar II (Photo), Honda Advanced Technology Simulator (ATS) (Photo), etc. In addition, Honda set up a section, Honda Racing Corner, which showed one racing motorcycle and one racing car. Further, the auto manufacture displayed a miniature model of its small business jet airplane (it started accepting order in October 2006) and also demonstrated ASIMO robot. ■Mazda exhibited nine models including Mazda 3, production of which is currently being suspended, at its own booth Mazda, which targets sales of 300,000 vehicles in China in 2010, exhibited ten models in nine types of vehicles at its own booth including those it consigns production to FAW Car Co., Ltd. In addition, FAW Car and FAW Haima Motor showed five models that they produce on consignment from Mazda at the booth of China FAW Group. ■New Mazda 3 3box: Its production is currently being suspended. Production began at Chongqing Changan Ford Automobile (currently Chongqing Changan Ford-Mazda Automobile) in March 2006. The model is a sedan that is marketed by a joint sales company between China FAW and Mazda. It uses 2.0L engine. The standard selling price as of March 2006 was 169,800 RMB for 5-speed MT spec and 179,800 RMB for 4-speed AT with manual mode.
■Mazda Senku concept: Reference exhibit. Debuted at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show. The model is a 4-seat hybrid sports concept car. It uses Mazda hybrid system, which consists of 13B-DI rotary engine/one generator/one motor/battery, and 7-speed transmission. 4,650mm long x 1,850mm wide x 1,400mm high. (Photo) ■Mazda Sassou concept: Reference exhibit. The model is a 3-door hatchback that was introduced in Asia for the first time (debuted at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show). It uses 1.0L MZR I-3 DISI turbocharged engine. 3,890mm long x 1,740mm wide x 1,370mm high. (Photo) ■Mazda 5 HRE Hybrid concept: Reference exhibit. The model is a 5-seat hybrid concept. It uses powertrain that consists of Hydrogen Rotary Engine/a motor with a maximum output of 30kW/Ni-H battery. 4,505mm long x 1,745mm wide x 1,615mm high. (Photo) ■New Mazda MX-5: Reference exhibit. The model is an open sports car (2-seat) with Power Retractable Hard Top spec. It was launched in Japan/US/Europe in 2006. The model is reported to be imported/sold in China starting in 2007. It uses 2.0L MZR I4 DOHC engine with a maximum output of 166 horsepower and 6-speed MT. 3,995mm long x 1,720mm wide x 1,255mm high. (Photo) ■Mazda 5: Reference exhibit. The model is a mass-produced spec (3-row, 7-seat) in Europe. It uses 2.0L MZR DOHC engine with a maximum output of 107kW, which is also used in Mazda 6/Mazda 3, and 5-speed MT. 4,505mm long x 1,755mm wide x 1,615mm high. (Photo) In addition, Mazda exhibited Mazda RX-8, which uses a rotary gasoline engine that it started to import/sell in China in July 2005. ■FAW Car exhibited Mazda 6 Wagon/Sports, which it started producing/selling in 2006 ■Mazda 6 Wagon: The model is a 5-door wagon, production/sale of which began in September 2006. The standard selling price is 246,800 RMB. It uses Mazda 2.3L aluminum-alloy S-VT engine with a maximum output of 120kW, which meets Euro III emission standards, and 5-speed AT with manual mode. Mazda 6 Wagon is equipped with 6 airbags. (Photo) ■New Mazda 6 Sports: The model is a sports spec car, production/sale of which began in May 2006. It uses the same engine as Mazda 6 Wagon. The standard selling price is 239,800 RMB for AT (with manual mode) spec (Photo) and 222,800 RMB for 6-speed MT spec. Also, FAW Car exhibited two specs of new Mazda 6 sedan, which was released in October 2005, 2.0L super-luxury spec 2006 model (standard selling price is 199,800 RMB) that uses AT with manual model, and 2.3L flagship spec 2006 model (219,800 RMB). ■FAW Haima Motor exhibited Premacy/Familia FAW Haima Motor exhibited the highest-end spec 2004 model of 7-seat MPV Premacy (standard selling price is 147,600 RMB), which is reported to be currently enjoying strong sales, and Familia GLX-S sports-spec 2006 model (113,600 RMB for limited sale) (Photo), which uses 1.6L ZM gasoline engine. In addition, the auto manufacturer showed its own brand vehicle Familia II, its proprietary S1 concept, and its own brand engine, HM483Q. ■Mazda exhibited RENESIS Hydrogen Rotary Engine at the section for its technology including powertrain Mazda displayed RENESIS Hydrogen Rotary Engine (Photo) and Smart Idling Stop System (Photo), and the like at its technology section. The auto manufacturer also showed a rotary engine used in Mazda RX-8, which is not used in models that are imported/marketed in China. ■Mitsubishi exhibited Outlander EX/Lancer Evolution IX, which it started importing/selling in October 2006 Mitsubishi exhibited 12 models at a joint booth with Soueast (Fujian) Motor, in which it holds a 25% stake. In addition, the auto manufacturer displayed one Mitsubishi brand vehicle at each of the booths by Beijing Automotive Industrial Holding and Hunan Changfeng Motors. ■Outlander EX Chinese-/North American-spec model: The model is a Chinese-/North American-spec model of the 2nd-generation Outlander 7-seat SUV. Import/subscription sale began in October 2006 at the standard selling price of 274,000-334,000 RMB (the sale is scheduled to start in January 2007). The model utilizes 3.0L SOHC V6 MIVEC 6B31 engine and electronic-control 4WD INVECS-III 6-speed AT (Photo). Mitsubishi also exhibited Japanese-spec (Photo). ■Lancer Evolution IX 2007: 9th-geneartion Lancer Evolution 5-seat sports sedan. Import/sale began in China in October 2006. The standard selling price is 455,000 RMB. The model uses 4G63 2.0L DOHC intercooled turbo MIVEC engine (maximum output of 206kW) and electronic control 4WD 6-speed MT. (Photo) ■Eclipse Spider Sports: Reference exhibit. 4-seat open spec of 4th-generation Eclipse (which is also 3rd-generation Eclipse Spider) that MMNA (MITSUBISHI MOTORS NORTH AMERICA Inc.) produces. It was released in North America in 2006. The model uses 3.8L V6 MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve Timing Electronic Control) with a maximum output of 191kW. 4,560mm long x 1,830mm wide x 1,390mm high. The model is a 5-seat sports hatchback concept model that debuted at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show (developed by Mitsubishi Motor R&D Europe (MRDE)). 4,500mm long x 1,795mm wide x 1,450mm high. (Photo) In addition, Mitsubishi exhibited Pajero Evolution Racing Car, which uses 4.0L DOHC MIVEC engine with a maximum output of 199kW, and 6-/7-seat Grandis 2007 model (standard selling price is 258,000 RMB) that uses 2.4L SOHC MIVEC engine, which debuted at the 2006 Guangzhou Motor Show (China) and which Mitsubishi started importing/selling in China. ■Soueast (Fujian) Motor exhibited Galant to be released at the end of 2006 and Lancer Sports scheduled to be released in 2007 ■Galant 2.4L: 9th-generation Galant, which is scheduled to be released under Mitsubishi brand in December 2006. The model was lined off at Soueast (Fujian) Motor in October 2006. Subscription sale was started in November. Galant 2.4L uses 2.4L MIVEC engine manufactured by Shenyang Mitsubishi Engine Manufacturing and Japan-made INVECS II 4-speed AT with manual mode. The standard selling price is expected to be 203,800-223,800 RMB.
■Lancer 1.6L Sports: 1.6L sports spec model. The model is planned to be launched as of about June 2007 as a made-to-order product. The standard selling price is reported to be approximately 140,000 RMB. (Photo)
■Lancer 1.6L 3box: The model, based on Lancer, is Soueast (Fujian) Motor's first Mitsubishi brand model. Production/sale began in May 2006. It uses 1.6L engine with a maximum output of 100 horsepower and AT/MT with manual sports mode. Lancer 1.6L 3box is equipped with Bosch ABS/leather seat/smart airbag. The standard selling price is 102,800-122,800 RMB. (Photo) ■New Space Wagon 2006: The model is a 2006 model under Mitsubishi brand, which was exhibited at the 2006 Guangzhou Motor Show (China) and which was released in Shanghai in May 2006 (the former model was under Soueast (Fujian) Motor brand. It was based on Grandis). New Space Wagon 2006 uses 2.4L engine and AT with manual sports mode. It is equipped with ABS and smart airbag. The standard selling price is 179,800-229,800 RMB. In addition, Soueast (Fujian) Motor exhibited 2006 model of its existing mass-produced model, Lioncel (Photo). ■Beijing Benz exhibited Outlander 2006 model that newly uses Mitsubishi 2.4L MIVEC engine ■Outlander 2006: 2006 model of the 1st-generation Outlander, Mitsubishi brand 5-seat SUV, which Beijing Benz produces by commissioning until 2012. The model newly uses Mitsubishi 2.4L 4G69 MIVEC engine. The standard selling price is 179,800-229,800 RMB. (Photo) ■Hunan Changfeng Motors exhibited Chinese-spec 2006 model of Mitsubishi brand Pajero V77 ■New Pajero V77 2006 3.8L GLS: 2006 model of Pajero V77, which was released in August 2006. The model uses Mitsubishi 6G75 gasoline engine and 5-speed MT/5-speed AT with manual mode. The standard selling price is 465,000 RMB for 5-speed MT spec and 478,000 RMB for AT spec. China-made SUVs of the same class are Sichuan FAW Toyota Motor Prado and Beijing Benz Jeep 4700 ZhengTu (Grand Cherokee).
In addition, Hunan Changfeng Motors exhibited three proprietary concept models - UU CT3 concept/Changfeng LiuBao CS6-Y concept/Changfeng Liebao CS7 concept. ■Suzuki exhibited SX4/Landy, which it produces in China, and Grand Vitara/Jimny, which it imports/markets Suzuki exhibited jointly with its joint venture companies in China Chongqing Changan Suzuki/Jiangxi Changhe Suzuki - 11 models of vehicles and two models of motorcycles (Boulevard M109R and GSR600A). In August 2006, Suzuki obtained import/marketing license from the Chinese government. The auto manufacturer will start import/sale through its regional headquarters, Suzuki China Investment Co., Ltd., in 2007. ■SX4: Japan-/European-spec of SX4 was exhibited. Chongqing Changan Suzuki has started producing a sedan model (TianYu) of SX4 in November 2006. ■Landy: 8-seat compact MPV, which is planned to be produced at the Jingdezhen plant of Jiangxi Changhe Suzuki starting in February 2007. The model uses 1.4L DOHC K14B engine (planned to be manufactured at an engine plant in Jiujiang, Jiangxi prov.) with a maximum output of 70kW and Full-Time 4WD (MR driving system) 4-speed AT. 3,850mm long x 1,510mm wide x 1,910mm high.
■Grand Vitara 2006: 2006 model, import/sale in China is scheduled to start at the beginning of 2007. The model is equipped with 6 airbags as standard equipment. There are two specs - 4-seat, 3-door spec (4,005mm long x 1,810mm wide x 1,695mm high) that uses 1.6L M16A DOHC VVT engine and Full-Time 4WD transmission (Photo) and 5-seat, 5-door spec that uses 2.0L DOHC J20A engine and 4-mode 4WD transmission (4,470mm long x 1,810mm wide x 1,695mm high) (Photo). The standard selling prices is expected to be 180,000-230,000 RMB. ■Jimny: 4-seat compact SUV. Import/sale are planned to start in China at the beginning of 2007. The model uses 1.3L DOHC M13A aluminum VVT engine with a maximum output of 62.5kW and 4WD transmission. 3,665mm long x 1,600mm wide x 1,705mm high.
■IONIS concept: 4-seat concept car powered by fuel cell and motor. 3,395mm long x 1,475mm wide x 1,650mm high. (Photo) ■Chongqing Changan Suzuki exhibited a sedan spec of Suzuki SX4, which it started producing in November 2006 ■Tianyu SX4 3box (tentative name: YY5): The model was lined off in November 2006 and was released in December 2006. It is a Chinese-spec model of Suzuki's global model, SX4. There are five specs of the model - three specs with 5-speed MT and two specs with 4-speed AT. The standard selling price is 105,000-137,000 RMV. Tianyu SX4 uses 1.6L M16A VVT engine, which meets Euro III emission standards. 4,490mm long x 1,730mm wide x 1,555mm high. The model uses 1.3L SOHC G13B engine with a maximum output of 63kW and MT. The standard selling price is 69,800-94,800 RMB. (Photo) ■Jiangxi Changhe Suzuki exhibited Liana 2box, which it started producing in March 2006 ■Liana 2box: The model is a 5-seat hatchback, production/sale began at the Jiujiang plant of Jiangxi province in March 2006. The standard selling price is 97,800 RMB. The model uses 1.6LDOHC M16A engine with a maximum output of 70kW and 5-speed MT. It meets Euro III emission standards. 4,230mm long x 1,690mm wide x 1,550mm high. (Photo) In addition, Jiangxi Changhe Suzuki exhibited K14B (16V DOHC) engine (Photo) that meets Euro III emission standards, which its Jiujiang engine plant started manufacturing in September 2005, 5-seat new BeiDouXing (based on Wagon R wide), which uses the engine, and Liana, production/sale of which began in December 2005. ■Fuji Heavy Industries exhibited five model that it imports/sells in China including newly launched Tribeca Chinese-spec model Fuji Heavy Industries, which withdrew from production in China, exhibited a total of five models- Tribeca, which was released in time for this Auto Show, and four models currently imported/sold in China. ■Tribeca Chinese-spec model: Chinese-spec model of Subaru's first 5+2 seat SUV. Import/sale began in November 2006. The standard selling price is 550,000-600,000 RMB. The model uses 3.0L DOHC V6 engine with a maximum output of 180kW and SPORTSHIFT* E-5-speed AT with manual mode. It newly adopts Subaru SI-Drive system (Symmetrical AWD). 4,855mm long x 1,880mm wide x 1,685mm high.
In addition, Fuji Heavy Industries displayed Legacy 2.0R 2007 model/Legacy 3.0R 2007 model/Forester 2.5XT 2007 model, all of which it also exhibited at the 2006 Guangzhou Motor Show (China), and Impreza 2.0R AT 2007 model (Photo). At its technology section, the auto manufacturer introduced SI-Drive system (Symmetrical AWD), which it developed by integrating Symmetrical AWD and Subaru BOXER. |
